Custom Blinds in Curti: Expert Installation & Free Site Visit

Aluminium sliding windows, which nearly every Curti flat has, are about the easiest opening there is for a blind: square, standard and with a clean recess. What the blind must deal with is sun. Buildings here have little shade around them, and upper floors get hours of direct light. A sunscreen roller on east and south windows takes out glare and leaves the outlook; on the west side a blackout roller or a zebra blind stops light and heat at once. Rollers also suit a place with highway dust, because one flat surface wipes down faster than a row of slats. For a young family on a budget, blinds can go in room by room.

• Bedrooms facing west: a blackout roller inside the window recess, keeping the room dark for a child's afternoon sleep and cooler at night.
• Living rooms overlooking another block: zebra blinds, which screen the facing flats while daylight still comes through the sheer bands.
• Kitchens and study corners: plain sunscreen rollers, quick to wipe free of the dust the highway sends up.
