A resident on the 7th floor of an upscale Porvorim penthouse wanted an earthy, sophisticated window covering solution for their home office and living room. They wanted natural wood warmth rather than synthetic plastic blinds, but needed assurance that Goa's monsoon humidity wouldn't warp the slats.
High-altitude penthouse windows experience harsh thermal UV exposure by day and high humidity condensation during monsoon squalls. Untreated wood blinds frequently warp, crack, or mildew within two seasons if not engineered specifically for coastal conditions.
We supplied and installed premium 50mm American Basswood Venetian blinds, kiln-dried to 8% moisture tolerance and coated with a 4-layer polyurethane micro-seal that resists coastal humidity and UV yellowing. Each blind was configured with wide chocolate-toned herringbone cotton ladder tapes and a heavy-duty steel headrail with high-ratio reduction tilt gears for feather-light operation.
The penthouse gained precise 180° light control, eliminating screen glare in the client's home workspace while filling the room with warm golden sunlight. The natural wood grain complements the hardwood floors and indoor tropical plants seamlessly.
