Custom Sofas in Marcaim: Bespoke Designs for Your Home

In Marcaim a sofa is worn out by grit before age. Dust carried from the estate roads works into the weave each time someone sits, and a loose or velvety fabric grinds thin at the arms and seat fronts. A tightly woven cloth holds up far better, and leatherette can simply be wiped, though it is sticky in a hot inland room without air conditioning; a breathable tight weave is the middle course. In the traditional houses near the temple, older wooden sofas are worth re-webbing and covering afresh. Those houses sit on lower, more humid ground, so raised legs and zip-off covers help there. For rented rooms, a compact two-seater with firm foam is all that is needed.

• Family homes near the estate: a sofa in a dense, flat weave with zip-off covers, vacuumed regularly against road dust.
• Traditional houses by the temple: the existing wooden sofa repaired and reupholstered, on legs that keep it off the damp floor.
• Office reception areas: a leatherette two- or three-seater that wipes clean of the grit visitors bring in.
