Custom Sofas for Socorro Homes & Businesses

Socorro's homes are lived in all year by the families who own them, so a sofa here is chosen for daily comfort over many years, not for a season of letting. That argues for a solid hardwood frame and good foam, and for looking hard at what the house already has. An old carved settee with sound joints can be re-webbed, re-padded and re-covered more than once. In the newer villas, a big living room takes a sectional or two sofas facing each other; draw it on the floor plan first. The village is inland, so cotton and linen blends are comfortable and safe, though in the damp low-lying houses a sofa on legs with removable covers is wiser.

• Old houses with gardens: restore the existing hardwood frames with fresh webbing and a cotton-blend cover in a quiet print.
• Villa living rooms on the Porvorim side: a pair of made-to-size sofas facing each other, drawn on the plan before ordering.
• Verandas and garden rooms: outdoor-grade fabric on the seat cushions, because the doors stand open to the green all day.
