Sun, not sea wind, is what an awning in Corlim is for. The village lies inland, and a west-facing window or sit-out bakes through the afternoon; shade over it keeps the wall and the room behind it noticeably cooler. A manual folding-arm awning is enough for a row house, pitched so that monsoon rain runs off the front bar. Colour matters more here than in most places, because dust from the industrial estate and the Ponda road marks pale fabric. Choose a mid or dark shade and hose it down before the dirt sets.
