A bamboo blind is made of thin bamboo slats woven together with cord, and rolls up from the bottom on a pulley. Indoors it filters light and adds a natural texture. Outdoors, on a balcony or veranda, it cuts the sun, screens the view from the road and still lets the breeze pass.
For outdoor use in Goa the bamboo is treated with a water-repellent marine varnish and an anti-termite sealant, and the blind is tied down at the railing so it does not swing in the wind. Each blind is made to the width and drop of your opening.
