WPC stands for wood-plastic composite: wood fibre bound with plastic and pressed into a profile. A WPC louver is a long strip with raised ribs, called flutes, running along its length. Fixed side by side, the strips give a wall the lined, shadowed look of timber slats.
Because the material is a composite, it does not attract termites and copes with humidity far better than natural wood, which matters in Goa. It comes ready-finished, so there is no polishing on site.

Where Fluted Panels Are Used

- Balconies and facades, in exterior-grade WPC.
Fitting
The strips are fixed vertically in most rooms, which makes a ceiling look higher. A frame of battens goes on the wall first so the strips sit straight even if the plaster is not. A small gap is left at the ends, because composite moves slightly with heat. Outdoors, only exterior-grade WPC should be used.
