Enter the length and width of each room. The calculator gives the floor area in sq ft and m², the boxes of planks to order with an allowance for cuts, the length of sheet vinyl roll, and the skirting.
Box coverage differs between products. It is printed on the box; change the figure to match the flooring you choose.
132 sq ft
of flooring (12.3 m²), including 10% for cuts and waste
Planks are bought by the box and sheet vinyl by the length of roll. Both start from the floor area.
Length × width at the widest points. Split an L-shaped room into two rectangles.
Add the waste allowance, divide by the area one box covers, and round up.
Strips run the long way. Strips = short side ÷ roll width, rounded up.
The distance around the room. Take off the width of each doorway.
Vinyl, SPC click, laminate and wooden flooring, supplied and laid over your existing floor across Goa, with a free measurement.
A 12 × 10 ft room is 120 sq ft (11.1 m²). Adding 10 percent for cuts gives 132 sq ft (12.3 m²). If one box covers 2.2 m², that is 6 boxes. Box coverage differs between products, so check the figure printed on the box.
About 5 percent for a simple rectangular room, 10 percent as the usual allowance, and 15 percent if the planks are laid diagonally or the room has many corners.
Work out the floor area, add the waste allowance, divide by the area one box covers and round up to a whole box. Keep any spare planks for repairs.
Sheet vinyl comes in rolls, commonly 2 metres wide. The number of strips is the short side of the room divided by the roll width, rounded up. The roll length is the number of strips multiplied by the long side of the room.
Split it into two rectangles, enter each as its own room and the calculator adds them.
