A villa owner located 300 meters from Candolim beach wanted to keep their expansive French balcony doors wide open during evenings to welcome coastal breezes. However, evening mosquitoes and flying pests forced them to keep the glass shut, turning the room stuffy.
Standard insect screens corrode quickly in the salty ocean air, and bulky bottom door sills create tripping hazards for elderly parents and toddlers walking out to the pool deck.
We engineered a customized double-shutter sliding insect screen using heavy-duty 6063-T6 architectural aluminum profiles in pure white electrostatic powder coating. For the mesh, we used Grade 304 marine stainless steel wire woven at 18x18 aperture with charcoal powder coating for transparent optical clarity, coupled with a flush 4mm low-profile bottom track.
The client now enjoys 100% unobstructed sea breezes and natural cross-ventilation 24/7 without a single mosquito entering. The black SS mesh is nearly invisible against the garden backdrop.
